When I read about the history of electronic #drone#music, the names that come up often are Eliane Radigue, Suzanne Ciani, Laurie Spiegel, Delia Derbyshire, and Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith. Now I've just learned about Maryanne Amacher.
If it hasn't been done already, someone should investigate and interpret a feminine/feminist history of the genre of electronic drone music. There seems to be something there.
#Amarok question (on iPhone 4): does anyone else have issues with pictures? Preview showing fine but full-res only showing the ⚠️ background. Only a recent issue, no problem in desktop browser.
@Gargron are replies supposed to automatically be set as unlisted so timelines look less messy? If it is, it doesn't work for me (browser or Amarok). If it is not, wouldn't that be nice?
Yesterday's show, episode 114, is on the website. Find the stream and links for eleven tracks from eleven countries, all from the Commons except for one of them: https://studio-dessai.github.io/2018/01/11/sdecxiv/ Enjoy, and have a lovely week! :)
@pierreozoux haha yeah, shame not more people came on board! Was it announced in the Nextcloud announcement app? I can't remember if that's what happened but I think it would attract more users...
Two days ago, a person said they enjoyed listening to my radio show and gave some tiny details about how that Wednesday morning felt; today, an artist I played on the latest mix said they liked listening to it while walking in the woods. People mentioning that I somehow was a part of a tiny special moment they experienced are what keeps me doing what I do. #smallstories
