I've spent the whole summer taking care of sick family members. My mother had near-fatal pneumonia in June, landed in ICU over July 4 weekend. My father had a mild heart attack and a heart procedure on Wednesday. Now my husband is suffering from an abcessed tooth, dental surgery tomorrow. It never ends.

Wow, super tired. I went out to the country to film a video related to my climate change work, then had a speaking engagement tonight (also on climate change). Got over the hump for this week, though.

If any of you are movie bloggers, or know people who are, please spread the word! I'm hosting the Orson Welles Blogathon on Sept. 1-7. There are two kinds of Kubrick fans: the kind that love "A Clockwork Orange" and "Full Metal Jacket" but can't be bothered with anything else he did (except maybe "The Shining"), and those who can't sit through ACJ or FMJ but love "Barry Lyndon" and "Eyes Wide Shut." I'm in the latter group.

I've been on a rampage posting movie-related articles on my blog, first postings in months. I'll share them here in a bit.

Well, *that* was an effed-up movie, although brilliant and enjoyable.

I need some input on the cover of my new book. Which version do you like better? The medieval manuscript version or the modern photo version? Please boost for a wider sample size.

Time again to post my tired puppy gif, because it always seems to be what I feel like at 6PM on a Friday evening. Don't get old, kids.

Business development seminar just ended. I feel like my brain has been blown apart by an IED. But in a good way. I have a list of stuff to do that's a mile long now, though.

Wow, after the first (half) day the business development seminar is kicking my ass. I'm exhausted. Tomorrow is full day. I'll be dead at the end of it. Really great insights, though.
