And I'm headed off to an extremely intensive 3-day business development seminar tomorrow. Boot camp, basically. I'm really looking forward to it. Hoping to take my business to the next level.

I have given an advance copy of my upcoming book on climate change to a noted futurist with an international reputation who's agreed to provide a blurb I can use for the cover. Super exciting! Very proud of the book and excited to see it come out soon!

We're settling in to our new place. It's smaller overall, but I'm starting to feel very comfortable here.

After spending all day yesterday scrubbing my old apartment with various cleaning products, my fingerprints seem to have disappeared and have not yet returned. Seriously, the tips of my fingers are totally smooth. Didn't Alvin Karpis try to erase his fingerprints with plastic surgery in the 1930s? All he had to do was scrub a kitchen with Lysol wipes!

By the way, if you have to move I highly recommend College Hunks movers. They were professional, quick, friendly, fees transparent, and got the job done (most important part). I'd use them again.

The management of our old place was just terrible. Not malicious, but their constant incompetence tended to look like they were targeting us. I've never been so happy to leave an apartment. Just going back there this morning to turn in keys, I dreaded even dealing with them.

Spent the last 2 days moving. I absolutely hate moving, I guess no one likes it, but I'm very happy to be in our new place which is smaller but cozier (and cheaper). Had a very good night's sleep last night!

So, my husband and I are going to a new place where we will live smaller, cheaper, and (I think) happier. It goes against everything that's drilled into your head by consumer society, and we are "downwardly mobile," but I'm excited about this change. Ready to read my books, cook some good food and enjoy life in a smaller place.

I have also realized what an utter waste Christmas is. I converted to Judaism in 2015 so we no longer celebrate Christmas, and what a load it is off our minds. I found boxes full of gifts given to me on Christmas, 10 or 15 years ago, that I've never used or never even taken out of the box since then. What's the point of this? Money spent, crap delivered, carbon emissions generated...why? Completely pointless.

We've determined to "slim down" in this move and get rid of anything we don't actively use or have a specific reason to keep. Yesterday morning alone I took out 9 (!) boxes of trash and recycling, stuff we never use or refer to (mostly bank statements and financial records).

We're officially moving on June 1. Most of the stuff is out of our apartment, only the heavy stuff (furniture) left to do which will be done by professional movers. My husband and I are determined that this move not be as traumatic as the last one, two years ago, which scarred us forever. I think we're on track.

This guy I follow on Instagram keeps posting stories which are short videos of his co-workers lounging around in a chair or something, then suddenly gray leaves rain down in the picture and sad piano music plays. (It's a filter, I don't know the name of it). He does it 4, 5 times a day. Same thing over and over. Every day. What does this mean? Is it a joke I don't get? I'm baffled.

Yesterday I officially reenlisted for a second year teaching middle school history. I'm kind of amazed that I did that, but there it is.

Super tired tonight. Can't find the brain power to do anything creative.

Dog lovers! 🐕 What do you think of "It's Bruno!", the new pup related show on Netflix? My husband tasked me to watch the first episode and report back if it's worth it. I give it 6 as a show, but the dog is a 9. Is it worth continuing? #dogs

Gave a speech on climate change tonight at the Institute for Management Accountants year end banquet. It went pretty well. I was followed by a second speaker, an economist who confirmed a lot of what I said. Totally unplanned!
