The best excerpt from this article IMHO

    > [...] Our revolution serves a narrow spectrum. We’ve yet to see whether the movement can provide retribution to people across race and class lines.

I see this so very clearly based on how this has been unfolding over the last several years, and it feels like its making no progress for equality, only furthering the circus to misdirect attention away from the erosion of rights.

Anybody knows of a cooperatively operated #Linux distro? I'm talking a true #cooperative where some members do the actual coding/maintenance while others contribute financially or in other ways and they all use the distro. Also, would that be considered a #consumer or a #worker coop?

@writerSeth I learned a new trick today: you can use a web browser to do a public tag search on any instance, and if you pick a big instance, you'll get results from everyone they’re federated with.

    Here's one such search: https://mastodon.social/tags/amwriting

And then you can follow people who look interesting from your account.

It might help? Anyway, I think it’s a nifty trick.

Do not, I repeat, do not deploy this week. That is how you end up debugging a critical issue from your parent's wifi in your old bedroom while your spouse hates you for abandoning them with your racist uncle.

I wonder if there's any value in a post that helps peopel separate themselves from their workplaces brand identity.

I know I derived a lot of sense of self from my ubuntu persona, and i literally branded myself with it all over the place.

This put a lot of pressure on me not only to embody the qualities of the Code of Conduct, but also cut deep when I made the choice to leave and it introduced a minor identity crisis.

I see a lot of young professionals doing the same thing i was doing...

Cyberpunk is more like retro-future or contemporary fiction. And despite the fancyness of the speech recognition the idea of having an always-on omnidirectional microphone on my desk connected straight to a megacorporation, and presumably other agencies, just doesn't appeal to me. No thanks.

I feel like i'm going retro in some of my tech endeavors. I recently abandoned all the "flashy" git collaborative tools for my small and private repos w/ just a bare git server and cgit.

I cant' say i miss the headache of having a backing database. cgit "just works" and its fking amazingly fast.

I guess this hearkens back to when i went static site vs CMS, that i'm realizing complexity over time just isn't worth the headache.
