    M51 is an interacting galaxy in Canes Venatici. It is located just off the furthest handle star in the Big Dipper. It is about 24 Mly away.

    @hund @jason you can use Alpine *today*, but majority of folks do not use Alpine (which, tbf, also includes GNU tools to make it remotely usable and e.g. uses GnuPG for security).

    Regarding other parts ― they are not critical and were not critical in the past; especially in times when GNU was the only free option out there.

    You are free to use whatever name you like. I will stay with GNU+Linux, because after packaging multitudes of projects over the years I understand GNU’s role in ecosystem.

    Check out the nebula in today's APOD. Try to understand it. That's a star in the center with a torus of dust around it. The X shapes are understood to be a view of some conical structures viewed edgewise.

    @deshipu
    CPT originates from a study of gambling games and still is mostly used there, also in economy, and mostly in different math areas like e.g. statistics or cryptology. (Anywhere we can construct a probability space.)

    ¹ http://www.math.harvard.edu/~knill/teaching/math144_1994/probability.pdf

    PS Pursuit of pure and abstract math can develop methods which are useful in applied math. Like when we introduce the imaginary part just to simplify mathematical operations in Fourier transform. That imagi-y part has no meaning in physical space.

    @Wolf480pl @deshipu I’ve expressed myself poorly then.

    Classical probability theory precisely defines what is the event; how to measure probability of it. That theory doesn’t care about quantum states, physical measurements or interpretations.

    We define a sample space of equally likely outcomes Ī©={head, tail}. CPT let me compute p-s of events within the sample space:

    P(tossing-nor-head-nor-tail event)=0
    P(tossing-head e.)=½
    P(tossing-tail e.)=½
    P(tossing-head-or-tail e.)=1

    Event≠outcome.
