To quote Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

"I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to “order” than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice;"

    Even he saw the problem.

This article makes me think of so many white people who I've met in my life with the attitude that "not all white people." It's a really important piece to read in this kind of trying time

This happens in Europe already. A call to 112 from a mobile phone will trigger a location request to help the operator get an emergency vehicle to you.

It seems to be pretty strictly regulated.

Running Rust on the GPU with Accel
For the past month or so, I’ve been working on a follow-up to my series on Writing a Raytracer in Rust. This time around, I’ll be talking about writing a GPU-accelerated Path Tracer. As always, I’m writing it in Rust - including the GPU kernel code. Compiling Rust for GPUs at this point is difficult and error-prone, so I thought it would be good to start with some documentation on that aspect of the problem before diving into path tracing.

Yo, we _need_ diversity. It's that simple. We cannot keep doing the same thing over and over again and expect thing to change.

We need women, LGBTI, Black, Brown, Native folks in the game because we need their ideas to push the community and culture forward. We need to make our spaces _more_ appealing to them because we need them. We need their insight, knowledge and experience to find solutions that elude dominant culture.

Diversity isn't a bullet point. It's literally life.

Yeah! I like to believe that with literature/art/music, the reader/viewer/listener becomes part of the process of the telling the story. They influence it and create their own meaning, which can be just as important as the creator's intention.

Like with that particular series of books, my takeaway ended up being in opposition to the author's intended message.

@thegudtam I struggled with this exact issue when I was reading the Wizard's First Rule books by Terry Goodkind. I found out afterwards that the author specifically wanted to promote Rand-style Objectivism with the storyline :(
