@dthompson It's easier said than done, but I really like gitlab approach of deploying their application (it runs on a very similar stack) -- using omnibus package that creates its own environment under its own directory.
@larand I deactivated my account the other day. At first I wanted to import all data, but then I realized I using that as an excuse and I can always parse my twitter archive I already downloaded.
The account gets deleted 30 days after it is deactivates so I might log in if I realize I've forgotten something important.
Okay where did I see instructions on how to block domain? I've been sifting through federated timeline and in the last day or so I noticed many accounts on quitter.im demonstrating twitter behaviour -- newsbots and us opinion politics without CW.
What is the point of quitting twitter if it's going to be re-created all over again?
I know someone posted on how to block whole domain in settings, but I just can't find that option any more.
Every time I post something on facebook as an organization, I would paste the text then hover over 'POST' button then look at 'Promote' button right next to it -- facebook wants to have it as close to your field of vision as possible.
Then I think to myself -- "I'm not going to do your bidding, facebook" and close the window.
#GTALUG meeting tonight at 7:30 PM. Behind and Beyond Maker Festival with Eric Boyd. Note the location change, we're meeting in Main Lecture Hall of the same building -- 245 Church St. / Ryerson ENG. https://gtalug.org/meeting/2018-08/
@LuBellWoo@roseveleth I did something really small and I just started recording talks at our local geek hangouts. The channel doesn't have a lot of users at all but it's been interesting to watch how it's growing and mechanics of it without taking anything personally, so when I have my own idea I would understand how this works and manage my own expectation.
All I need to do is install Go and authorized OAuth (Not OAuth2) access.
It's working pretty well, 17GB downloaded so far. Download structure is a little weird, there's folder 'Auto Backup' and then it's all photos in created albums; that maybe due to quirks in google API.
