@emsenn I find it hard to motivate myself to write a private journal, and public one serves as more of a peer pressure to attempt to develop some ideas -- though I've been somewhat lazy about it.

I've been following you recently and I like your writing, but do take care of yourself.

@emsenn I've been checking peoples profiles before spending an effort about getting into debate, and it is surprisingly effective, though it will not deter a determined actor.

I'm sorry sir, it's protocol. If you're running for public office we need to do a quick walk-through of your house and if anything is flashing "12:00" you're immediately disqualified. I know you lost the manual, sir. I don't make the rules.

Normally I'm extremely interested in cryptography details, but I started reading a thread about how gnupg is connected to the SKS keyserver attack and....I gave up partway through because it's exactly the same story over and over again. We could have a drinking game on this, it's so consistent that everything PGP is:

    - 90s crypto
    - the internals are a badly evolved mess
    - noone gives a crap about the end2end big picture, instead it's pass-the-blame hot potato

Great, deleting staticfiles/ directory magically fixed the error. I can't even.

I didn't sleep well last night and I'm not ready to deal with javascript bullshit this morning.

    import shared from './shared.ts';
    ^^^^^^
    SyntaxError: Unexpected identifier

How the hell 'import' statement can be broken?

I found an open issue about it -- https://github.com/vuejs/vue-cli/issues/1584

Created June 15, 2018, still open.

Oh I love how jest test suite suddenly starts failing for no reason.

Cue people condescendingly giving gobs of package.json config with no context and copy-pasting unknown code from stack overflow.

@bob @brainblasted I think being bold, going all the way and calling it 'Bob Ross Studio' would be an awesome tribute.

How likely it Bob Ross estate would go along with it?

Am I right to think it's inappropriate that there seems to be a Facebook tracker embedded in the Government of Canada's "Security requirements for contracting with the Government of Canada" page?

    https://www.tpsgc-pwgsc.gc.ca/esc-src/protection-safeguarding/niveaux-levels-eng.html

(FF's Facebook Container blocks it, but leaves a little splodge behind)

@Nezchan Yes, I never understood the logic behind handling junk mail. Classification works fine but anything after that is a complete mystery.

I ended up running spamassassin on a server mostly because I have too many computers.

    Hey Fediverse,

I'm building a backup server for a Windows 10 computer with raspberry pi and some hard drives.

Instead of going the usual route of installing raspbian and samba, is it possible to use Windows IOT core as a backup server?

Car battery died. So I'm fixing that situation with the tools I've got. Of course I'm using vice grips as battery connector.

What I'm hoping to achieve is to trickle-charge the battery using 2A 12Vpower supply.

    What could possibly go wrong?
