So I've been working on a second style of #FantasyMap made in gimp using the same region as my other in progress map (many of the base layers of direct copies). This is a more political style map. I may have to tweak some opacities and colour choices but otherwise I think it's okay.
From here on out (names and cities/towns etc) I will be working on then together to make sure things line up. #Art#ArtWithOpenSource
@Anke my guess would be that they used to have different vowel sounds. Hardness and softness of g's and c's is generally to do with the following vowel but sometimes a vowel slips (English vowels are incredibly unstable) but the consonent doesn't follow.
@eylul That's a good idea. I've since discovered someone else has found a better one which I will add in a bit (with ref to where I found it on a gimp forum)
If you set the foreground or background colour to the colour you want before opening the dialog and then right click on the colour picker it gives you the option to select one of foreground/background/black or white colour
ANCIENT NORSE: Cmon dude, everybody knows there are nine worlds. Fire World, Ice World, Giant World, Death World, Light World, Dark World, Mist World, Peace God World, War God Palace, and Boring World. That's where we live.
Today I have been reading about proto-writing and half of what I have been thinking is "If you don't know what this stuff says how do you know if it encodes phonetic information or not?"
You decided to create a Religion on the internet where you are a god just for the fun of it, it spread out of your control, and after a while, you started to gain powers as more and more people started to workship you. #writingprompts#writing
You are a vampire hunter, and the local population cheers every time that, when bloodless bodies appear, you're there as well to hunt down the vampire. Except they don't know that's the best cover you ever found in 200 years. Because YOU are the vampire. #writingprompts#writing
I don't think there's anyone about who hasn't seen it, but if you're feeling generous you can support my #kickstarter to publish my librarians-and-necromancy fantasy novel, BOOKS & BONE.
I'm now trying to hit the first stretch goal to cover the cover art and the cost of ISBNs so I can get it into libraries and shops and just ... other places than Amazon.
@InvaderXan oddly though you reminding me what Pleroma meant followed closely by reading an article on @ExilianOfficial about high and low focus fantasy settings led to me having another #worldbuilding epiphany which was strange.
