@compostablespork I have a friend, much younger than that (in her 50s), very socially liberal, notionally christian but doesn't really practice, well aware of other human caused enviromental impacts and appalled by the Amazon wildfires etc (because biodiversity) but just will not accept Climate Change is anthropogenic.

Wait? Did the Swedes take something that's loaned into English from French (Après ski), calque it into English and then borrow the result instead of, you know, calquing into Swedish or borrowiing the French?

Or did given that ski is Norwegian (and presumably very similar in Swedish) did the French calque the pseudo-anglicism and then the English borrow it?

Either way this is just the sort of "wait what?" feature that naturalistic #conlangs need
