The discussion about securing direct messages in macroblogging Fediverse networks was short. Clearly, the negative outcome is not technical challenges (which I hoped to discuss) but the unanimous opinion federated networks were not designed for this. Regretting. But with due respect.
From now on, this account will broadcast only news related to Fediverse networks. In case it goes silent, updates will still be pushed to the website and RSS feed.

Five years ago to the day, the #PRISM program was made public. One of the main revelations in the summer of #Snowden, making very clear which companies we all should avoid.
However, let's not forget that Snowden had already tried to leak the information many months earlier. The NSA scandal almost didn't happen because Greenwald was reluctant to use PGP and didn't take Snowden seriously in the beginning. #TrueStory

@drequivalent A curious piece of reading! Much time and brains wasted on bursting someone's bubbles that may as well be effective human tools helping to move on... However, it has nothing to do with that comic strip :p Come on, you can't really deny that most of the things we want are not what we really need. ;) And somewhere deep down we know it. That's how I understand it. A reminder to fine-tune one's wishes, from time to time.

@saper +1. I've asked syuilo about making recaptcha optional and got the reply that so it will be soon. I think the project has not yet gotten as much exposure and contributors as, e.g., Mastodon. They seem to be open to new ideas, contributions and help. :)
