@sam_cw_leung It's why I shut down my agency. I felt like the business owned me and not the other way around and I wasn't able to do the work that was most fulfilling. My clients are satisfied, btw. It's just that there is so much more opportunity out there and it's tempting to build an agency to scoop up more work. It's easy to return to the model one knows, but I don't want the headache. I need to develop new models, which is where my growth will come from.

@ChrisWilson Yes, good point. I made a decision last year when launching my practice that I would not get into the sub game. Mainly, I didn't want to get sucked into managing freelancers and I didn't want to be responsible for work product that I could not control. Both reasons are why I struggle with the idea of adding employees, too. I guess there's my answer, huh?

2017 has been an excellent year for my consulting practice. In fact, yesterday I had two meetings (one with prospect, one with client) which will result in more work: strategic marketing plan, brand platform, brand roll out, product brand management, etc. The work keeps coming, which is a blessing.

It's been tempting to consider creating an agency rather than being a one man band but the thought of having the responsibility for employees again is not attractive. Kind of a catch 22.
