The amount of weapons seems odd, too. Like how many firearms is one mad going to use? I can see a couple automatics with *cases* of ammo, maybe a couple pistols ... but the cache was excessive for one guy, no?

Yes, we're essentially in the Finger Lakes region. We've got an old vine of Niagaras out back—not so good for wine. I've got the space to grow vines ... hm.

@YoVinnie Yeah, I went through a period like that about 20 years ago when I lived in Cape Town. Had a business that was falling apart and started drinking two or three bottles of cheap scotch a week. Realized I was heading for trouble when I woke up thinking about getting a drink. Sent myself to time out for a bit. I still drink, but pay closer attention to my behavior ever since.

Where do I sign up?!?!? You know, it's that easy to make money when you're a schmuck with no morals (which I know you're not like that.) It's amazing to see what people will pay for at times and I love being able to tell a client, "Don't waste money on that."

@GluedToTheScreen The employee/employer thing is real. It's one of the reasons I wanted out. I'm in NY state and the laws are getting more and more problematic for anyone with traditional values running a company.

How has consulting treated you? Sounds like you've been doing a-ok.

@sam_cw_leung Thanks, Sam. I'm grateful for your perspective and encouragement. Honestly, I've been given a gift to do the work I do. Learning to focus on it and to not get distracted by every shiny trinket, a.k.a. business opportunity, is important. I'm getting there, but the young entrepreneur in me still clamors for attention from time to time. :)

@ryanbytes Oh man. I'm sorry to hear it. Are you able to work a job or has this been so chronic it's put you on disability? I know back issues can be a horror show. I've been lucky, but my father used to have wicked back problems. Couldn't even take his own shoes off after work. I'll say a prayer today.
