Hey. You did great this week. You got things done and you didn’t sacrifice your well being to do it.
Balance is nice, isn’t it?

@tcql :cofepats:
@djsundog Failing that, there is the option to read the fifth sentence in the third to last paragraph of the penultimate chapter of anything that may vaguely resemble an architecture overview of a randomly selected product in the toolchain, and the solution to all infelicitous ephemera will be placed directly into your amygdala by a local representative of the high demons of chaos.
What? You're doubtful? Some countries suffer a serious dearth of blessed Canadian cigarettes so we just have to make do.
so, now that the toot-lab is no longer ejecting me from the front door, imma head to bed.
be good to you and be good to those who are good for you
:blobpats:
@er1n I think rustodon will be better due to the exercise because brains are silly :blobpats:
and this thing where dev toolchains end up as an integral part of the production administration of the software for a project is kind of pants for anyone who isn't a developer and we should probably account for that at some point and on some level.
I will point out that most of the issues I generally have upgrading the toot-lab are entirely due to my own heckery. it is not a very heckery frendy codebase.
@chr here's your sledgehammer
@KitRedgrave @chr ooh a fancy caching proxy!
> hey I would like to see this

< ok that's what I do

after many dead ends, crossed streams, rebases and resets and hard force megapunches to no fewer than three separate remotes, I realized I needed the smooth smoky blessing of inspiration from codemom, who would totally suggest that I check with kibi, who'd want to know the middle most line of the error, which pointed to a file that was requiring something that yarn hadn't yet installed so I asked yarn to install it and yarn told me to gtfo unless I asked for it to install it instead, there was a memo and I probably should have read it I guess but I don't want to be a yarn user really so, anyway, I asked yarn to install it and recompiled the heckin assets for the forty-seventh time tonight and lo and behold I could access most of the UI again.
so, if you run into ui issues, smoke a canadian cigarette blessed by a glitchwitch, have a think with the thinking cap of another glitchwitch, and then swing a sledgehammer to and from and everything will work out just fine.
thank whoever it is you thank for random non-occurences that you were not part of the heckery I performed on the toot-lab tonight
:blobpats:
Ahhhhh, better.
Sometimes self care is food, sleep, and a light at the end of the tunnel, and I gave myself those things this evening.
I have a family that cares about me and wants me well and happy too.
Take care of yourselves however you can, y'all. And thank you to all who take care of each other.
fucking so much shit I read on here makes me glad to be old and married and financially comfortable
being alive is so fucking stressful
@ajroach42 am considering reinstalling the operating system at this stage
@bea alas it is too late i already have that
ActionView::Template::Error: Webpacker can't find application.css in /home/mastodon/live/public/packs/manifest.json
being held hostage by a webpacker that is mostly unnecessary for my use case anyway but so it goes
the assets, they be stylin & precompilin
