@sullybiker The Pro Stock/buggy was running 10 sub-c NiCad's and the dragster ran up to 20 sub-c NiCad's but the last run was only 16 as it smoked with 20.
From what I have heard from the wife, most employers did not participate in the program because they could be left on the hook if they did participate and they employee left without paying it back.
>Staff at the freenode IRC network have resigned en-masse after control of it passed to what one described as a "narcissistic Trumpian wannabe korean royalty bitcoins millionaire." Resignation letters piled up from Fuchs, Ed Kellett, Emīls Piņķis, Jessica Sophie Porter and others, capping weeks of drama in the FOSS world's biggest chatbox. > >Aaron Jones details the sequence of events and concludes that "a hostile entity is now in operational control over the network, and is in posession of your data." Another resignee, Svante Bengtson, puts it succinctly: > > During the past few months in general, and last weeks in particular, it has become increasingly clear that the owners of the holding company freenode Ltd have been planning a hostile takeover of the freenode network. That takeover is now about to happen, and I cannot in good faith volunteer for this "new" freenode. freenode Ltd's current owners' values do not align with the values freenode the network was founded on and operated under up until now. >...
I still see it as an extension that requires install but it seems to be in the major repos so it should be available using apt/yum/etc from what I can find.
> I’m assuming that there are some breaking changes between the 7.x.y versions and the 8.x.y versions, so I can understand some grumbling from developers.
I have had issues with the 7.4.x version breaking stuff and many errors that didn't exist in 7.3 or 8.0 with the same exact code, while not as complex as some things I try to use the "standard install" items with the exception of DB extensions. That said my host provider upgraded from the 5.x to the 7.3-7.4 PHP this Feb!?!? I wonder how long they will wait for 8.x upgrades...
@lnxw48a1 I spun up a VM with Nitrux, while the desktop is technically KDE Plasma, it is not like what I have seen before, closer to a XFCE desktop and I didn't feel like doing a lot of customizing as there was nothing obvious to make it look like KDE with the limited time I spent looking. Other than that and not taking a lot of time it seemed more responsive than Fedora KDE in a VM.
@lnxw48a1 My notebook is running PCLinuxOS and I am mostly happy so far other than needing to add a few Flatpak programs that need to be manually updated as there is no auto updater for Flatpak.
One thing to keep in mind with PCLinuxOS, depending on what software you want to run, they don't like using any outside repos, thus the Flatpak programs and while I can access network shares, it seems that manual mounting of drives may be an issue but I have not yet dug deeply but the usual commands do not work for me.
Also, you will be wanting to look at the installed programs for things to remove like Zoom and Spotify which are installed by default among others.
>A brush fire in southern California has torn through more than 1,300 acres, shrouding parts of Los Angeles with plumes of smoke and ash and prompting evacuation orders for at least 1,000 residents. > >Investigators suspect an arsonist may have sparked the Palisades fire, and have taken a suspect into custody, Los Angeles’s mayor, Eric Garcetti, announced at a Monday morning news conference. > >The wildfire, dubbed the Palisades fire, broke out late on Friday in the Santa Monica Mountains and grew rapidly on Saturday afternoon. > >Historically dry conditions and warm temperatures helped fuel the fire as it ripped through dense, drought-desiccated vegetation in Topanga Canyon, a remote community of ranch homes west of Los Angeles. The region had not burned in more than 50 years, according to other Los Angeles fire departments. > >“The fire season in California and across the west is starting earlier and ending later each year,” according to Cal Fire, the state’s wildfire agency. Due in large part to global heating, “the length of fire season is estimated to have increased by 75 days across the Sierra and seems to correspond with an increase in the extent of the forest fires across the state,” the agency said. >...
