Nah. Leaving a market area where the competition is too tough is exactly what I'd expect in a genuine free market. Not that I'm saying this example is that. It could also be that Alibaba is smiled upon by Chairman Pooh and its competitors are therefore hindered.
> PFS means that if long-term keys for a given conversation are compromised, only a small amount of recent messages can be decrypted. However, under typical circumstances, the only way long term keys can be compromised is through full physical device access — in which case an attacker could simply pull the already-decrypted messages from the local database. As is often said in the infosec community, physical access is total access.
I understand this, but maybe y'all can reinstate PFS and not store messages unencrypted. So that (for example) a police officer on a fishing expedition cannot obtain your full history and content of conversations by seizing your phone.
It seems like this is an oversight, as I cannot imagine someone intentionally choosing to make a distributed network with this sort of dependency and few to no open-to-the-public general-purpose pub / room servers to join.
After tonight’s discussion about the South, #sonOne intends to watch “Cool Hand Luke” soon.

lnxw48a1Today’s lunch place had something similar to a buffet, with fried chicken 🍗, beef 🥩 stroganoff, cornbread, cheesecake, potatoes 🥔, green beans, and some other vegetables. Two people from another agency were eating at a neighboring table and they praised the food like Moses had brought it down from the mountain. But to me, it was not good.
The best thing was the cheesecake, and that was fairly generic tasting. The chicken was “y’all not from around heah, we gon’ give you some slop since you won’t be back” quality.
It’s a very small town and twelve minutes drive to the next town, so most people eat there.
Seeing that @simsa04 is facing a potential housing crisis, I think I should update on the situation with my family in #SoCal.
Mom is still in need of care, but my sister has to work full-time and then help out after work. Thus, she’s too tired to do much looking—either for another school district to work in, or for another home to live in. Prices are still too high for her income. The landlords have given us an undetermined amount of time to find a replacement.
In the US, it is common to require every adult in the household to sign the lease. Mom refuses to leave the area, despite it being too costly to remain.

lnxw48a1Someone asked me to recommend some ABBA songs, and I realized that they were part of the background music of those years, but hardly ever did I specifically seek out their songs (other than Waterloo and Fernando and S.O.S.) … I couldn’t give them a real answer, since I only know their most popular hits.
Ever noticed that once you start digging into a group’s music 🎶, you start to favor one of their least popular songs?
As with any censorship resistant network, both #Nostr and the #Fediverse are going to have to concentrate some energy around anti-spam and on improving user-level curation tools.
There are other reasons, of course, but weak curation tools lead to #blockwars such as #fediblock.
I believe that #Nostr Plebs is going to rename their “spaces” audiochat rooms as “nests” … as participants in Nostr are usually called “Nostriches”, this makes sense.
