By the way, Mexico's Popocatepetl volcano is erupting. They issued a "yellow phase 3" alert so people could prepare for possible evacuations. (It's something like 50 miles from Mexico City, so if the ash and fumes blow in that direction, there's no way they could evacuate everyone.)

It's sort of funny that I can leave the $EMPLOYER #Win10 laptop running without a network for multiple days. Still, very often when I go to log back in it has rebooted. (Some of them are updates, but some don't appear to be.) -

Best if that includes converting multi-user restrooms to multiple single-user restrooms, because that way, neither group "loses" and any legitimate safety concerns are also solved without stationing "pecker checkers" at restroom doors.
(Daniel, one of the guys behind Tent.io all those years ago, once laid out the reasoning behind sex-separated restrooms, pointing to rampant rapes in third world countries without them. This was his initial step in justifying why gender and not sex was now the important factor. I don't remember his reasoning, so I couldn't do it justice trying to repeat it.) -

#Bluesky's #AT_Protocol seems to be pretty complex. And its #federation may even be called "centralized by design", as it is designed to "[send] messages to a much smaller number of big aggregators, which then broadcast that data ... across the network."

Rye @medli@shitposter.club got #COVID-19 from a co-worker who thought #2019-nCoV was over and did not know they had it. In case you did not know, #SARS-CoV-2 is still spreading, making people sick, leaving an array of longer lasting symptoms, and sometimes ending their lives. -

@fu It may be, but remember that radio stations occasionally shift formats and pursue completely different audiences. That market may have some substantial audiences left unserved.
Still, I think "conservative talk" as a format is probably a top 3 format for commercial radio. A music-based format means people turn it off if there are too many commercials during morning drive time. But talk show hosts can ooze sincerity while reading copy about "it really works; I tried it myself" and their audiences will flock to buy whatever it is. -

There you go. They see a financial incentive.
When you use Facebook, you know they're spying on you and using that information to try to manipulate you, but they don't charge you the $30-50/month that it would cost if they went ad-free and turned off all spying.
If the NSA turned off its network taps in major data centers, most people would not even notice the difference in their taxes. -

During tonight’s #videochat, #GS3 told me more about Tropical Cyclone Mocha and especially about Tropical Storm Arlene. He knows that Arlene was near #FL, where his other grandparents live. He had not seen that Arlene broke apart, so he was concerned about them.
#GS4 didn’t say a lot. He told me that some of his berries yesterday were “greenberries”, not blueberries.
#GS5 looked grumpy. Then he quickly smiled twice at me, then returned to his grumpy look.
I don’t have budget for it right now, but the kids need hats with big floppy brims, sunglasses, and sunscreen. -
