PayPal or one of those GoFundMe type sites seem to be the popular choices. I can't guarantee that I'll be able to help (my card vendor only likes US-based payees and I'm currently off work).
@augustus @mangeurdenuage I'm not familiar with the people or the story (I'm avoiding the news these days), but if the decedent was active in some cause and one of his cause's beneficiaries killed him, the father may feel a need to keep his son's "life work" alive, even to the extent of supporting the cause that cost his son's life. It's weird, I know, but it happens.
there are some things you just can't do in a federated system. blocks on other servers and deletions on other servers are part of that. If anybody promised you that, they don't know what they are talking about.
@kfist @moonman I don't understand workaholics. But I know there's some enjoyment that comes from being productive, especially if you come from a resource-poor background and the extra pay is already spoken for.
I definitely understand the hobbies part, because I spent years studying in preparation for a job in this field. Other than grandchild time, what I do for fun is often similar to some of the tasks I do for work.

mangeurdenuage>Next time I should specifically leave the smartphone at home and just read the paper. Indeed you should, or a book. The "smart" electronic devices era aren't an improvement of life as far as I see it. Same thing for tablet, as I observe in many people like for example my mother her way of life has degraded since she began using it. Same with my father with his smartphone.
