hey, art people - can you recommend me books on utilizing the formal elements?

I've got a fairly strong aptitude for composition, but feel I'm held back a lack of formal education or training on the matter.

my experiences with Godot 3.0 so far: the editor quits to desktop after the splash screen and there's no error dumps or anything to help me figure out why
