Cool. There's a new #activitypub platform for blogging called #plume, meant to be an alternative to #medium. This could be a pretty big deal, because it means orgs can go all in on the #fediverse. They can have a #mastodon/#pleroma acct for quick communication and host their blog on plume instead of medium and all of it will federate, so users can choose how to follow and communicate with them.
There's a fresh and very promising open source alternative to Instagram that's called @pixelfed. It's not only decentralized but it's also federated via ActivityPub. :)
@abbreviatedman I can't answer for @dark13, but I like vanilla-y distros because I prefer doing things myself. I don't want anyone telling me what I need and/or what I like or not and I don't need help doing it, I want to learn it myself.
@christopher According to https://eugdprcompliant.com/personal-data/ it seems that the answer is "Yes, it is classified as an Online Identifier and should be treated as personal data" because ISPs know who used a particular IP address, and combining that info with access logs will identify a person.
@dar13@omnipotens@G_Dog1985 I would like to recommend framapic.org over imgur. It's a libre image hosting site with a few more options regarding the expire date of your image. No account needed.
@istvan I would assume the Gherkin is mainly for like compact travel and/or memes. I can't speak for everyone, but for me it's a requirement to have a programmable keyboard if I'm going to use 60% or smaller. I know a lot of people are happy with like the Pok3r though. Perhaps you could save up and build some cheap 60% yourself later? :)
@jt I'm using i3, like everyone else today it seems. :)
But it is a very good one though, it has great support for multiple monitors, containers, you can tab and stack clients, i3bar is one of the better panels out there, it's easy to configure and there's tons of documentation!
It's fairly easy on the resources as well, it uses about 3,5MB of RAM for me.
