@timapple Why can't you sort your files locally? There's even photo organization applications that can tag pictures and do other fancy pants things — if you're not as old school as me who just manually sort them in folders.

@dazrock Which processor? I know that mobile processors is not the same as desktop processors for obvious reasons, but I was rocking a 10 year old dual core Intel E8400 w/o Hyper threading in my HTPC/VPS-host with 6GB of RAM.

I was watching 1080p content on it while running two virtual machines with Nextcloud, Prosody, TT-RSS and even a modded Minecraft-server on top of that. The motherboard unfortunately died this spring, which is the only reason I upgraded the hardware.

@istvan I use Conversation Legacy. I don't like the changes they did in the 2.0 branch. :)

@artixx You're talking to a 60% user. Layers can actually make things more efficient and ergonomic if done right. :)

@istvan I agree. Cherry MX Brown is a good start and if you want something lighter or heavier and/or more tactile you have a lot to choose from. :)

@istvan The Pok3r is a good keyboard as well, but if you're a power user you should really consider if it's not time for a programmable keyboard or if you're okay with the layout they have. And if you're okay with no physical arrow cluster.

It's possible with arrow cluster on a custom 60% though, if it's something you really need and don't want to go up to 65% or anything larger.

@istvan Cherry are decent, but when you dive into the world of custom keyboards you have more switches to choose from. Kailh alone have more than 30 variants! Then there's Zealio, Tealio and Zilents from ZealPC, Gateron have a bunch of switches and then there's Aliaz, Hako, Outemu, MOD, Panda and not to mentioned modded switches like MX Silent and Holy Pandas. :)

@istvan That is very true and that's why I always recommend against buying something crazy expensive. :) Cherry are not bad switches, they wouldn't be in business with the same switches after more than 30 years if that was the case. Topre vs Cherry is like comparing oranges with apples.

Ducky make good keyboards, they're not the cheapest, but if you like the look and have the money, then go for it. :)

@istvan Ah! :) Rubber dome vs mechanical switches are all personal taste, I have never tried Topre switches myself because I like linear switches (no tactical feedback). You're also /very/ limited with basically everything, but it all comes down to what you want and need.

Have you decided on a size yet? :)

The decision is seemingly a trade-off for usability across multiple devices.

@istvan It's a decentralized and open source instant messenger. It's actually not something new, I've been using it for over a decade, but most prefer silly things like Facebook Messenger and Signal.

@bobjonkman The potatoes are probably the least of your issues. The palm oil most use for snacks and other products are very bad, not only for your health, but also for our rainforest and our wildlife. You should therefore avoid anything with palm oil and only buy products that use better alternatives like the sunflower oil.
