*extremely 1960s documentary voice* cars have become the most important thing in our way of life. streets given over to cars. congestion causes huge delays, scrapheaps full of their corpses, they fill our cities, our countryside, our world, destroying everything in their path. how can we, as a society, make it easier for the motorist to go about his day in efficiency and comfort, and ensure that in the future, there are even more cars than there are already?

There's no money to be made in stitching together parts from purloined bodies and using a tower-based lightning system to imbue them with life. The real money is in catering to the hobbyists who want to make their own monsters and selling them starter kits, supplies and how to guides.

More than half will never even make a single monster. They'll spend money just so they can imagine themselves as the sort of person who stitches together and animates monsters.

Actually, GPLv2 section 4 is quite explicit about the GPL license being irrevocable, which means ESR is doubly incorrect:

    GPLv2 section 4:

You may not copy, modify, sublicense, or distribute the Program except as expressly provided under this License. Any attempt otherwise to copy, modify, sublicense or distribute the Program is void, and will automatically terminate your rights under this License. However, parties who have received copies, or rights, from you under this License will not have their licenses terminated so long as such parties remain in full compliance.

    What this means broken down:

You may not copy, modify, sublicense, or distribute the Program except as expressly provided under this License.

You can’t change the license when you pass it on to others.

Any attempt otherwise to copy, modify, sublicense or distribute the Program is void, and will automatically terminate your rights under this License.

Doing so anyway is a breach of the license and rescinds your own rights to use the work under GPLv2.

However, parties who have received copies, or rights, from you under this License will not have their licenses terminated so long as such parties remain in full compliance.

Even if your own rights are revoked, people you passed the code along to keep their own rights under GPLv2. Licenses will not be revoked as long as those parties remain in compliance.

Thusly, a GPLv2 grant is irrevocable.

The internet is already broken bc of #Google.
Try it. Block all gooogle IPs, subsidiaries, libraries, & so-called ‘free services.’ Venture further to co’s they invest in like HTC, MagicLeap, etc. Things won't look right, not load, not allow you #ReCaptcha access, no notifications, nada etc. This is why #FuckOffGoogle is important. #Google is a monopoly bc there is no way to not give them your personal information when wanting to surf the www safely without being #Privacy #PeolpleFarm’ed by them.

Design thinking is the opposite of inclusive design?

“They turn the everyday ability to solve a problem into a rarefied practice, limited only to those who self-consciously follow a specialized methodology. In fact, problem-solving is always messy and most solutions are shaped by political agendas and resource constraints. The solutions that win out are not necessarily the best—they are generally those that are favored by the powerful or at least by the majority. Both rational experimentation and design thinking provide cover for this political calculus. They make a process that is deeply informed by social and economic structures seem merely technical or aesthetic.”
