Uh oh... thinking about how a local repo cache would work for my various #Fedora machines. I feel like I should only download a kernel to my home network once...
Listen, I get it, we want folks to learn ethics. But nothing yells capitalism like the headline, " Announcing a Competition for Ethics in Computer Science, with up to $3.5 Million in Prizes"…
I guess folks should find other #Mastodon users that sign up at the same time so you can experience the emotional roller coaster together.
Otherwise you might be elated by how it feel like "old Twitter" while your friends realize "humans suck everywhere". And you definitely want to relapse together!
Remember, fair or ill, we're in this together, you beautiful, sucky humans!
@satchmoz This idea is the only thing making me want to play D&D again! I thought of the show Defiance as D&D, but they also had a Great Bad Thing happen that reset the planet. What I'd like to see is a world that basically functions well as independent communities, until something causes a sudden surge of adventuring...
@satchmoz My favorite D&D setting is Nentir Valley/"Points of Light". I'd love to double down on that setting with research on how PoL worked on Earth. ^_^
At which point in history did "communes" become a thing we all wanted to start with our friends? I mean, I feel like such discussions increased along my personal timeline, despite really traumatic experiences happening (Branch Davidians and Heaven's Gate come to mind)...
And yet, nearly everyone I ask has at some point mused on starting a metaphorical commune (I don't think many get into actual details).
And failed! Turns out my boot partition trouble will make this upgrade impossible. So I finally know for sure I am switching to Fedora on the primary lappy.
