In the future we'll need fantasy MMOs to teach people what the "key" and "phone" icons mean.

I've never used #ArchLinux, but I've benefited from their wiki times beyond count.

Thanks ArchLinux users! You folks have great #documentation!

Brutalist web design will never fade, because it is "progressive-ready". I can drop it in reader mode or override with local style *very easily*. That's amazing interactive design! No javascript required!

If you say, "all people in this group is like this", I won't pay attention. Not because I believe you are wrong, but because I'm busy and I don't have time to check.

If you say, "I am in this group, and this is my experience", I'll pay more attention. Not because I think it's true, but because I just love you humans so much!

Point: speak who you are, because everything else is boring busy work.

Firefox is removing RSS features, but defaults to allowing third-party cookies.

    Firefox, your priorities are wrong.

Remove the old RSS code, make it new. Block third-party cookies.

Or drop RSS like it was gopher+, and block third-party cookies.

Or ignore everything I've said and block third-party cookies.

#mud #idea: instanced dungeon grid where one player is running tower defense, everyone else is offense, individually.

I was thinking how you can change output for a room to essentially run two or more games with the same objects and rooms. Think Pyro's goggles in TF2.

But you could just as easy make a secondary game that players could use to spawn mobs and such, without giving them build privs.

Incentivize with a game currency, and tour mud could have some interesting intelligence behind it.

Places of worship have an interesting trajectory in history: they start out as the most significant, high place in its patch of civilization, and then the lowest, most humble point as the land around it is developed into metal and glass towers.

According to Clover, taking one piece of fruit from a tree in a yard is okay, but 6 - 10 is "robbing".

    Must be nice.

@cstanhope I've always been put off by how their infrastructure works. It always feels like they are emulating RedHat, but at volunteer capacity. And dogfooding volunteers systems, as well.

I like volunteer orgs! Id just like to see if balanced a bit more towards pragmatic decisions.

I helped set up Fedora Magazine, but had a naming issue with the SSO system they use, and all they configured WP oddly... I wish I had a better grasp of the org as a whole.

    Kind of my goal. ^_^

@maiki Remember there used to be prizes for philosophy essays. “On the Basis of Morality was written for an essay contest of a Danish academy. Unlike Schopenhauer’s other essay on ethics, On the Freedom of the Will, which had been crowned by a Norwegian academy, this essay was not awarded a prize despite being the only response which the academy had received.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/On_the_Basis_of_Morality

@kensanata thanks for pointing that out! Hey, what does "crown" refer to? Is that a fancy publishing term?

@cheesegrits I'll think on that, as something that concerns folks. It does not concern me.

#Mastodon is already being forked, and #Pleroma is an alt, with more in the wings.

Not dismissing concerns, but if folks don't learn about FOSS and the protections that cone with it, they need to educate. ^_^
