Some #ADHD or executive-function-challenged #Linux users would benefit from a multi-step #decluttering schedule before #WorldBackupDay (March 31): does anyone have such a checklist or procedure sheet?
@jeremiah I ❤️ his brioche recipe, and have been teaching my child his white bread recipe. I've got a 1970 hardcover of his 'How to Eat Better For Less Money' and reprint of 'The Fireside Cook Book: A Complete Guide to Fine Cooking for Beginner and Expert', the latter suggested Escoffier Sauce Diable for breaded pork chops.
@tomasino For me the novel pet peeve is the subtitle formatted "A [Story | Tale | Novel] About a [Boy (over the age of 20) | Girl (old enough to use night cream)], a [Vanagon | Moto Guzzi], and How [Everything | Nothing | Bun E. Carlos from Cheap Trick] Saved the [Universe | Planet | Day]"
@tomasino I registered for an account and am pleased to report my OPML file was exported to rss.tildeverse.org, in case any silent readers wanted to give this a try.
@jeremiah I read 20 minutes ago newsbeuter is no longer maintained (but newsboat is). I've seen Akregator recommended as a KDEverse reader. I'd like either a desktop widget or application. I have a OPML orphaned from a Firefox update, and would like something I can read from my machine, and I'd be subscribing to YouTube channels with it.
@tomasino I honestly am feeling remedial today: signing up means creating a new account, and not logging on with my existing tilde.team credentials, correct?
@maiki I don't know how much of my trouble comes from stale packages relying on replaced/updated files, and how much comes from applications that no longer are maintained, and personal lack of confidence in learning how to use GitHub. I watched @ChrisWere's video and agree with the both of you on protecting and retaining #RSS.
@tomasino by "us", do you mean tilde.team? Incidentally, I went to tilde.team to look at offerings, and found this as the index/start page: https://tilde.team/offline.html
This will never happen, but I'd love it if cable news channel watchers would stop watching 'pundit guests' paid only to lie and obfuscate. Make the news shows die out or improve their content. Opt for a medium with some interactivity so you can call them out on their B.S. This one-way broadcasting opiate is a bad scene, dude.
Happy mail day, including something from @kemonine and four other loveys. Today is #EdwardGorey's birthday, so I'll use the Gorey TrueType font on envelopes.
