@n8 @lufthans at the bottom yes (and it can be other VCSes). But it's also some tools to make that easier to manage, rollback, etc.
I imagine there are ways to go straight into the Git repo, but who really wants to use Git directly?!?! 😉

@n8 I think that @lufthans uses etckeeper, or at least gave a talk on it 😉
The best part is having a picroft is getting @popey sing me "Love me tender" on demand. Usually it requires at least a couple beers. 🍻
@garrett The file/open dialog ones are waiting for snap to support portals. That's almost done from what I hear, so we should be able to use the system dialog directly.
You might need to login/logout for the desktop file to get parsed. Snap puts them in /var/ and then adds that to the search path, but that may not get refreshed without a restart.
@garrett great! If it doesn't work, tell me, I'd like to make sure it gets fixed.
The GTK3 version is on the experimental branch. By default Snap will install the 0.92.3 version on stable and then you can switch it. (and switch back if it is too broken and you need to get work done 😉 )
@garrett there is a GTK3 snap. Should work fine on Fedora.
I imagine they don't want the case by Ms. Clifford to go away to hide the affair, no one thinks Pres. Trump respects women, more because it moving forward makes other women like Ms. McDougal look at their agreements and question the legality of them. — https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/02/us/politics/stormy-daniels-trump-arbitration.html?partner=rss&emc=rss
Finally got the picroft install working on the Googly AIY voice kit using these instructions:
https://community.mycroft.ai/t/mycroft-with-google-aiy-voice-kit-disk-image/
Turns out the image won't work with the Pi3B+, you really want a 3B. Everything starts coming together at that point.
Didn't quite work as a "Good Friday off school" project with the kids, but now we have lots more to play with.
Frustrating to see someone come in and try and stop this project again. "Faster rail" is not exciting, and not worth it, we need to focus on high speed rail to catch up with the rest of the world. — https://www.dallasnews.com/news/transportation/2018/04/02/dallas-houston-high-speed-rail-plan-will-make-texas-35-corridor-loser-competitor-says
Car dealer: “Trump has been saying these standards are crushing the auto industry. But we’ve had record years for the past four or five years, in terms of sales and profit,” he said. “It almost makes you think he doesn’t have the facts.” — https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/02/climate/trump-auto-emissions-rules.html?partner=rss&emc=rss
@banjofox sad story.
There was gal named Marie who registered it. She intended it make a cake shop website, but people wanted to make it a celebration of cake in all towns. There were riots. And eventually at the guillotine she eventually yelled out: "Let them have cake.town!"
😆
Boris Johnson was born in New York and then moved to London. Just sayin'... — http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-43610936
@aparrish I honestly doubt it'll impact things much unless they lock up the compilers. FOSS projects that have MacOSX binaries already have to have a special build for those. The special build just may create multiple binaries.
Certainly there'll be a transition that might be painful, as Apple is unlikely to ship new HW to FOSS devs, but eventually they'll have it.
Uhg, autocorrect... intimidation.
There is no better way to explain how each Mastodon instance is its own community than to look at that server's custom emoji.
I'm unsure how, and it seems others are as well, to write a toot that behaves like a reply, but starts the conversation. On Twitter you can do this by starting with the user id, but it seems that Mastodon still includes these as Toots in your timeline and sends to all followers.
Seems like "unlisted" isn't what I want because I'm fine with it showing up in my "Toots & Replies" on my public profile. But I'm not sure how to make it behave the way I expect.
Help me Mastodon users!
Nice that Amazon and Google have provided clear examples of why you wouldn't want their voice assistants in the form of patents. — https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/31/business/media/amazon-google-privacy-digital-assistants.html?partner=rss&emc=rss
Interesting that they ruled the threat of a lawsuit was enough to violate his rights to free speech. Lawsuit threats are thrown around a lot in modern culture, will be an interesting change if courts start ruling those as harassment and intermediation. — http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-43598832
@skellat not the president's job for continuing to make bigoted statements. In fact, it is quite the opposite of his job.
@skellat sure, but it still shouldn't be recended on racist precepts. The court only suggested further review, which I think was justified.
