It's either Hitler or John Cleese, I can't quite tell.
-
The face in the second O. Like the Hitler tea kettle, it cannot be unseen.

Is anyone else unsure why pan-dimensional celestial Hitler is the Google doodle today? https://mulligrubs.me/photos/stjohn/image/16944460575ab2726d3a9ec622013272

Satirical portraits of our Insect Overlord β there are some real beauts here. Check out that doughnut with a slice of processed cheese on top. https://portraitmode.crooked.com/

Yeah, people have a rosy view of the Clintons because Bill's presidency came after Reagan and before Bush/9-11. It's easy to remember it as a golden age when it was book-ended by shit on either side, but like with the 2016 election, just because other things are worse doesn't necessarily make the Clintons okay.
-
It's pronounced "cab-ahdge".

Ohhh, fighting words! I'm the other way around, I liked Cube 2 but not 0. To be fair, though, they're all really fun movies.
-
Men's toilets are horrifying. I worked in an office where someone had clearly been sitting on the can, picking his nose and *wiping it on the wall*. A grown-ass fucking man, wiping his snot on the wall of the cubicle. This planet's too good for humanity.

Ghostbusters II β jizz on it. Just jizz all over it. https://media.giphy.com/media/xT8qBoJw9ydyaepZxS/giphy.gif

Virgin's old Missing Adventures line from the 90s were always the best IMHO, but there were some fun books in the BBC's line-up as well. Actually, even some of the old Target novelisations deserve a look-in.

Remember when Mattel sued Aqua over "Barbie Girl"? According to Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mattel,_Inc._v._MCA_Records,_Inc. the judge threw the case out saying, "The parties are advised to chill." And then subequently, "If this were a sci-fi melodrama, it might be called Speech-Zilla meets Trademark Kong."
Best judge ever?

Haha, thank you! I'm really glad to see people making cool content for Gopher. How do you usually find good Gopher sites? Is it word of mouth?
-
I've tried blocking JS, but depressingly little works without it π My compromise is using uMatrix, which will block third-party JS from loading unless you enable it. That way you can choose what JS you'll allow while continuing to block malicious JS like tracking or ad scripts. It's a constant pain in my arse, but it works :P

I appreciate someone else calling him on it. Bonus points for using Gopher! I actually expressed very similar sentiments in December after the latest browser security kerfuffle:
gopher://gopher.stjo.hn/1/the-web-is-a-shot-bird
But alas quitting the whole Web is hardly practical. You just have to armor-up with a nuclear arsenal of plugins to help de-stinkify the Web.

Ah yes, the same person had a go at me for this. I thought we were having a conversation, but he abruptly turned nasty and told me to get off the web. I wouldn't bother trying to talk with him, he doesn't seem interested in anyone's opinions except his own.

I *still* cry at this scene. And I've read the book in English and Esperanto β and I cry like a baby every time that fucking horse dies. Doesn't matter what language, doesn't matter what medium, doesn't matter if I'm in the middle of the goddamn street, I've just got to man up and cry.

Lomo'Instant / Fujifilm Instax Mini
This is the only photo I ever took with my Lomo'Instant that I really love. Of course now I wish I'd taken it with a better camera, but then there's something appealing about the saturated colors, high contrast, and vague blurriness of instant film too.
