my actually totally serious suggestion for renaming GIMP: Imp.

- it's the 21st century, "graphical" is the default (especially for the users you want to attract)
- sounds fun and mischievous
- could have an ugly-cute mascot
- alliterates with Inkscape
- not a super common word so easier to Google for help
- less bits flipped when changing the strings to the new title, thus staving off universe heat death longer

As a concession, the bell pepper brushes may remain.

Mozilla has a pretty cool app (as some kind of preview? idk I just found it in the Play Store), it's called ScreenshotGo and it runs OCR on screenshots to make them full-text searchable and to allow you to copy text! Might help with those image descriptions 🙂

As I've finished the initial setup for the Git repository, here's a fork of the GNU Image Manipulation Program I've started working on called "Wilber"

For now the intention is just to rebrand the upstream project so it has a less dodgy name, then track upstream releases periodically.
