@ajroach42 Oh, I have no pull either. :P While I don't make a habit of it, I have sometimes had to just not attend meetings if I'm very busy. If I attended every meeting I was invited to, I'd never get anything done. It's literally just a block of meeting invites on my calendar from 8-6.

@Fidgetcetera I guess you're probably tired of hearing this by now, but as a non-Twitter user, I don't know why anyone uses the service anymore because all it ever does is seem to make people sad these days?
It was cool like a decade ago, I guess

@staticsafe I have an instance with basically just two users, but I'm routinely using almost 2GB.

@clay Since Wordpress is a CMS (it manages the creation of the front-end site yourself -- you're not manually creating HTML most of the time), most accessibility features should be already built-in, and unless you go crazy with your design, anybody with a screen reader should be able to read the site without _too_ much difficulty.

@clay Ah. I got quite into accessibility in web applications about a decade ago after reading an account of a blind person's use of the web through screen readers such as JAWS. IIRC, one of the biggest pet peeves he had with websites were those that didn't use "alt" tags correctly with images to describe them. (Since then I've always included very detailed "alt" tag information in my work.)

@clay The wordpress team has been around a long time and are pretty well established -- they don't have all the standard accessibility features available on the web already built into the core engine?

@bizbot Can I get a job too? Am I doing this right? I don't want to do this wrong and get fired instead.

@cypnk I once heard the quote that the average carpet weighs twice as much after 10 years as when it's installed. I imagine with shag carpeting it's probably four times as much.
I dislike carpet.

@cypnk Never did -- I think there was just a glut of fake wood on the market in the 70s, and we had to do *something* with it.

@staticsafe I realized then that Nexus owners were de facto unpaid beta testers, and that pissed me off. There's a reason why other OEMs take months to release Android updates -- they want to make sure the bugs are gone, first. :P
Google either doesn't care, which means their quality control is crap, or they know *exactly* what they're doing, and I don't like giving work for free.

@staticsafe I was living in the US and had Verizon until very recently, so I never even had a chance at a "real" Nexus device (the neutered "Galaxy Nexus" on Verizon didn't count -- Google didn't even have full control over updates to it, I've heard).
Then when I could finally get a Nexus 5X after moving to a GSM carrier, I was shocked by just how... _poor_ the phone ran. Reboots, hideous lag, _factory_ apps (like the camera) crashing.

@staticsafe There was a time, 5-6 yrs ago, when I would've loved to buy an Android phone, direct from Google, made by Google, with the most latest version of Android on it, always.
Now, I don't do it even when given the choice.
