This wasn't rhetorical.
How are you? What's bringing you joy? What would make things better?

I've spent the last two weeks on a major pop punk and emo kick, and tonight that trend broke and I'm back to the white stripes and the black keys.
I'll likely stay in this space for at least a few hours.
@drwho I hate to hear that. I imagine I would be equally stressed in a similar situation.
I hope you can find the center.
@ink_slinger I owe this job, and the general trajectory my life is currently on to someone I met on Mastodon.
Speaking of which: https://peertube.mastodon.host/accounts/ajroach42/video-channels
I have movies and TV shows on peertube. I'll be adding more in the coming weeks/months.
There are 36 TV episodes, 13 film serial episodes, and 37 movies currently available. Mostly scifi and horror, with some adventure and some other garbage.
I've also started writing an episode in which Jack fails to kill bigfoot because Climate Change, which I think will be fun.
Uhhh... #JupitersGhost has seen some progress recently too, and it should be ready for contributions eventually.
And I've decided to buy a telecine rig for what I'll call #ModernVintageFilm but which is really just me archiving film reels to digital files that I can share on Archive.org and peertube.
@ajroach42 Approximately none of my co-workers even know what Mastodon/the Fediverse is and I like it that way.
#MountainTownToys progress has slowed but not stopped as I teach myself how to use my new drag knife cutter and sewing machine.
#OfManyTrades should be back online tomorrow or Friday.
#BiteSizedBits boxes should be done for everyone I'm making them for by the second week of December. I'm cutting it close on time, but the hard work is already finished.
#ExpeditionSasquatch should have a new episode up before next Monday, and another shortly behind it.
So, how is everyone?
I feel like I've been especially scattered these last few weeks.
Then again, I feel like I always feel that way.
Let me throw some updates out in to the aether and see what sticks.
The third of my coworkers has, by now, likely found my mastodon account.
Hello, I'm weirder here than at work. Please don't hold it against me. :-D
@kittybecca That, and the racist jerrymandering.
@ajroach42 that’s a big monkey
@bamfic right? Super time consuming. And I've got two dozen reels of 500-1000 feet each! Plus sound!
I'll talk to the lady tomorrow and figure out when I can get the gizmo.
I think I've sold myself on the idea.
I think I can do it without it cutting in to my podcast time or my action figure time or my sysadmin time or my comic book publishing time or my god damn I really do have too many ongoing projects don't I? Shit.
Well, I'm already spending four hours a week on average doing film and TV related archival work, cleanup, research, metadata tagging, etc. This is really just an extension of that.
.
Fifth:
I have zero desire to keep a film library, and film stock has started to decay at an alarming rate anyway, so after I do my transfers I'll probably donate the film known to an archive somewhere or just turn around and sell it to someone else (to pay for more film!)
@matt I don't know that I'd take it quite that far, but ... yeah that proximity is worth bringing up.
@ajroach42 Oh also "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge" came out 3 months before American Idiot and it was such a spectacularly better pop punk album it's insane to me that anyone gave a shit about Green Day. Next to MCR American Idiot sounds like the blandest, safest, lowest-energy dad punk imaginable
@staticsafe @mike the last episode hurts.
@staticsafe okay, but it was the Best mirror universe episode.
