HI SCHOLARS! I'm interested in learning about Robin Hood, and the history of this character in English folklore.

What's the best text on the subject? What is the best collection of tales?

In today's Robin Sloan Newsletter I was introduced to the Aerial Board of Control, an organization in two 1905 scifi shorts by Rudyard Kipling.

[via wikipedia:] "The Aerial Board of Control is a fictional supranational organization to manage air traffic for the whole world. The organisation was able to limit the influence of national states and create a de facto world government."

This book is in the public dain and available on project Gutenberg. I'm going to try to put together a Standard eBooks eddition eventually (unless someone beats me to it.)

@danhunsaker I saw that after I got the other one, but I haven't tried to fix it yet.

@danhunsaker @smcameron I ended up getting another pi 4. I think I might have fried this one the last time I used it. It's entirely unresponsive.

Here are the original images for comparison. Notice how the contrast is blow our on the image without the hats, and that the high contrast impacted the ability of the algorithm to evenly color the image.

@68km @greyor @FiXato oh. I mean, separate non-priveledged user, key based auth, the normal fail2ban precautions, reasonable firewall rules. Seems fine to me.

I did have some luck with the image models. Here is what that looks like with various values on the color resolution.

There are a few other models I want to experiment with, because the one made some Very Conservative choices and I'm curious what the more adventurous models would deliver.

@Shitlord there are pre-trained models I can use which deliver decent results. I don't have to train the algorithm, so I should be able to get by on a 4GB graphics card.

Several folks here and elsewhere suggested paperspace or gradient by paperspace today.

Their pricing sea pretty reasonable, and based on my experiments yesterday I should be able to complete a full render in about three hours with a mediocre GPU so... I guess I'm going to give that a shot and see what the results are like.

@68km I do something similar for yunohost, but as to if it is okay... I mean it probably violates your service agreement with your ISP, but mine hasn't cared yet.
