♲ @erosdiscordia@hackers.town: Ah yes, a database of trans kids in a right-wing county. I'm sure this will be fine. /s
"In defense of the district, Spicker said the plan is tended to protect LGBTQ students and denied that the plan is some form of registry of trans students. It is not required for trans students to fill out the form, he said. However, if they do not fill it out, they may only be identified by school faculty with their gender assigned at birth."
So kids have to come out to their parents (I repeat, right-wing county) and get those parents to sign a document putting their transness in a database, under duress of being forcibly mistreated at school.
They replied to me and suggested I updated the configuration to use a more recent container to run the tests. Sadly the Scrutinizer tests themselves aren’t particularly useful for us anymore, pointing out things that we are mostly already handling or simply irrelevant. I’ll look into PHPStan or Psalm instead.
♲ @dwiskus@twitter.com: The Matrix described 1999 as the peak of human civilization and I laughed because that would obviously not age well but then the next 23 years happened and now I’m like yeah okay maybe the machines had a point
♲ @propublica@twitter.com: A right-wing think tank is now a church in the eyes of the IRS. It’s part of a growing movement of activist groups that are seeking church status.
Fair enough, no shame in that. Unicode is a set of characters encoded on 16 to 32 bits beyond the 8-bit ANSI character set. It's most famous for including the emoji section you can use in social media posts like 🙂🐈🎁.
Windows and other OSes provide visual Emoji pickers since these characters are hardly typeable on a regular keyboard. However, Windows shows the U+2714 (HEAVY CHECK MARK) U+FE0F (VARIATION SELECTOR-16) ✔️ in the visual emoji picker (that you can bring up with Win + .) but when you click on it, surprise, it just adds U+2714 (HEAVY CHECK MARK) ✔ to the text box you were editing.
♲ @Orteil42@twitter.com: real-world location names sneak so easily into fantasy worlds. you can find Alterac Swiss in world of warcraft, or visit the Alpine Borderlands in guild wars 2, or own a labrador in path of exile. nowhere else in those games are Switzerland, the Alps or Canada acknowledged
It used to be in subtler ways, like federal political candidates (house, senate, president) almost having to be self-declared Christians not to thwart their run. Now of course it's more obvious with the recent Supreme Court rulings.
