I love this podcast episode. Especially around 37 minutes in Jack Kornfield - Duncan Trussell Family Hour
Jack Kornfield is a bestselling American author and teacher in the vipassana movement in American Theravada Buddhism. This episode is a wonderful palate cleanser if you've been drinking too much news.
@Holly Yeah, it's really sad. All you have to do is look at the deer. They're crowding into the cities. It's almost like there's more for them to eat in towns than in the countryside. My wife was saying if we could only return the %40 of corn fields used for ethanol production that would make a huge difference.
Had the thought this morning as I arrived to work and found corn "decorating" our front steps that the great tragedy of the #Iowa#landscape is the land was beautiful in spite of the #corn , _not_ because of it. Really seems like people venerate our #ecological#devastation way too much.
@switchingsocial What about just using searx.me? It's from searx creator and there's no setup.
Of course the real problem with the metasearch engines is that they're still using the service you're trying to get away from. Kind of feels parasitic. Like we're befitting from the expense if others. @vulpesvulpes@aral
Since I'm the product with services like Facebook. I don't trust them no matter what they do. I just don't use them at all. Trying to glob on to the idea of opened in open source just makes them more suspect. Like how Microsoft _loves_ open source now.
@John Is someone else in the doc with you? Just worked on one with someone this weekend and the chat feature only seemed to be available when someone else was there.
