@gamehawk I feel like I am playing the same game in the house that I rented in the fall as new green things pop out of the ground and new things bloom. There have been tulips, POPPIES, pretty pink things and now something that might just turn out to be irises... only time will tell.

Yes! The orchestra, the clowns, the art, the stories & the care!

I watched a gym competition yesterday. Those girls walked, turned & twisted with ease. It was beautiful and the wobbles and falls were also a wonderful reminder of the difficulty of even the "easy" bits despite *all* of those hours spent in practice.

Maybe balance gets easier with practice, but never "easy." Maybe what takes the most courage is to progress to even more difficult skills, despite knowing that none of it can ever be completely mastered. Maybe that's also part of the beauty.

@katebowles Actually, when I'm not here, I'm usually nowhere in a social media sense. Sometimes that's a good thing (because it means I am more focused on family) and sometimes that's a bad thing (because I am more focused on work (or family)).

Perhaps it always comes back to balance and getting the mix right...

I was driving my youngest daughter to a gym competition when the GPS instructions took us in an unexpected direction. I said, “I don’t know where we are going. We might not get there in time if this is wrong.” She said, “The only important thing is that we try.” Smart kid.

@lauraritchie Next week, my daughter has the week off gym, which means for me a week without driving duties. I will do my best to follow your lead with the yoga & self care!

@katebowles @dogtrax I feel like I am spending more and more time away from here, but it also makes these small opporunities to “be with” even in a different time and space and place even more precious.

If only I could package & send some heat... sending warm thoughts instead.

@Rubbaduxx Yes, I expect it’s an approach that works with most kids (and people). A large part of why all I have right now it “wow”.

My middle girl re-started school at an alternative school last week.

The transformation is amazing. The girl who refused to go before is now running across the road to be on time.

In one class, when she got bored during a video & threw a paper airplane, the teacher responded by pausing the video & explaining the aero-dynamics of why her plane “sucked” and the class all learned by making better ones.

Wow. Just wow.

@lauraritchie It is so cool that you actually did this! I loved the video when you shared it before. Wonder if any of my kids will be assigned a “model the solar system” project any time soon.

@lauraritchie Sometimes it seems to freeze for me, but with a bit of patience, I can always scroll back further.
