@epicmorphism You could say that collective ownership is not *solely* Christian, certainly, but you can't really say that collective ownership is *not* Christian, because it's literally what Jesus of Nazareth taught and what the first few generations of his movement lived.
I think it's fair to say that the first Christians were small-c communists. Obviously not Big-C Marx-Engels-Lenin "Communism (TM)" ists
but they were communitarians, commune-dwellers, common-holders, call it what one will.
@epicmorphism Marx, Engels and Lenin came a few thousand years late to the party, and decided that they had invented the idea of "holding all goods in common".
Not the first time that this has happened in European history, sadly.
(Actually-existing Christian and Jewish, and probably Islamic, history, is a constant tension between communist and property-owning factions. The various monastic orders that popped up every few centuries kept resurfacing the idea of collective ownership though.)
