I like how some of the seemingly white cishet men on here have turned hella gay and trans fluid in the past 2 years :D

@marcus @zatnosk One of the things we'll be looking to do is cooperate more with the whole Fediverse (ie all the other implementations of AP) in order to be as cross-compatible as possible (where possible).

We are, for now, staying connected with Upstream Masto, but may cherry pick out changes that this (Florence) community really doesn't actually want.

We are however not foreign to the idea of a hard-fork further down the line.

With these 2 things in mind (see previous 2 posts and votes), did you ever feel like #Mastodon was Non-political?

Did Mastodon's stance on "No nazis" appeal to you when joining?

Thing is, you're literally trying to limit our free speech and freedom of association.

We don't want our app associated with Nazis if we can help it. That's our choice.
Then if people want to, or don't want to, associate themselves with us because of the decision we made that's entirely up to them, and completely okay.

So, I've been thinking. And you're all right. Neutral will never bring on change.

#FLOSS is riddled with the "we must stay neutral" mentality, this creates a problem in this space, it simply isn't safe for minorities to participate in a lot of the conversations.

This means being neutral isn't neutral at all.

Who's onboard to work on FLOSS from an anti-racist, intersectional feminist perspective?

On July 4th Gab is coming on to the Fediverse by switching over to Mastodon on their servers.

This means that you can shut the door on them today by preemptively have them fully suspended from your instances. So your users do not have risk getting harassed by any of their users, and they from the start be blocked off from major portions of the Fediverse.

When someone does a whole writeup about a feature you merged into your app, which is basically a step to disallow connections to certain harbours of hate, you know you done good. I'm so happy to read these words today.
