I like !nextcloud but I believe that needs #activitypub to that kind of federation.

@switchingsocial conversations.im it's a pay account, it's free for 6 months, then you have to pay.
And as @ninjafoss said it's important to pay for services or make donations if we want to have our own free and privacy care tools.
That account it's 8$ a year.

Anyway you can use an external account (or several ones). I do use

and I use to recommend it for Spanish speaking people. I'm sure there will be lot of servers in other languages and create an account is too easy.
You just need to explain that you need to create the account and then choose a client... or more than one.

You also mention recently that it's easy to register a !nextcloud account at @disroot. And if you already have a disroot.org account, that account it's also a fully featured !xmpp account, so no need to register a new one.

I can't find it so difficult, and "whatsapp people" that use Conversations have no problem at all.

@noriko si es para simplemente controlar tus gastos a mi me va muy bien esta cuando ando de viaje. Cuentas diferentes para tarjetas, diferentes monedas, categorías para separar tipos de gastos (alimentación, alojamiento...).

Se puede exportar a CSV, hacer copias en !nextcloud ...

I divorced #Google and became #Googlefree when I started using #ownCloud, and now, !Nextcloud for the calendar. I'm also using it as a webDAV drive, and #Nextcloud can also do collaborative editing of documents. @beechmtn @stoori @mayel

I have this infamous message in my !nextcloud installation:
Your web server is not yet set up properly to allow file synchronization because the #WebDAV interface seems to be broken. It tries to PROPFIND on /remote.php which is allowed by my configuration, still I'm getting this message. Any ideas?

Yup! I set up an !ownCloud server in 2013 (?) specifically to divorce myself from Google Calendar. I disliked the ownCloud calendar webUI; the !Nextcloud calendar webUI is only slightly better. But the backend implements the iCalendar spec RFC 5545 very well, so I'm using Thunderbird's Lightning caledendar plugin, the DAVdroid app from !Fdroid, and have used the .ics public access URI for other implementations. #GoogleFree

@shevek creo que ya te han respondido, pero si no he entendido mal, la combinación de !nextcloud con sus clientes hace exactamente eso.

Y además lo tienes en local también, si no tienes conexión no sincronizas, pero los datos anteriormente sincronizados los tienes tú.

Se supone que tienes que instalar gstreamer-plugins-bad and python-farstream pero ni por esas

No puedo habilitarlo en la configuración

Con cuentas de suchat he conseguido llamadas de voz en Linphone, pero sin vídeo.

Las combinaciones de clientes de #tox / sistemas operativos disponibles no me han ido bien.

La videoconferencia del !nextcloud de @disroot medio funciona, aunque con algunas cosillas sobre todo desde el móvil (con Firefox)

Se siguen admitiendo sugerencias. :)
