Toying around with a circuit to add tube distortion to line audio using 12AU7 aka ECC82 tubes. It hadn't occured to me before watching glasslinger's latest video where he restores a 30's mantle radio that one needs to add some kind of current limit to the filament supply. This because the filaments start out at a lower resistance, and without a limit there might be thermal shock and damage over time.. !elektronik
A bit of a change of pace: documented the absolute ratsnest that is the back of my car's electrics, to get the trailer connector working properly. Seems it's just a grounding issue. The old wire goes nowhere, and my bodge job to attempt to fix it wasn't good enough. Next up is crimping together the floating ground wire to the thick yellow one going to one of the ground screws. !elektronikhttps://social.umeahackerspace.se/attachment/371577
Digital or analog? Adding does not add extra harmonics, assuming a perfectly linear adder. If the phasing is right then some harmonics may even go away. You probably need some kind of anti-aliasing filter either way (assuming analog -> digital). Do you have a schematic? Paging !elektronik
@gus What's wrong with the pot? (or, having read your previous posts, how is it the wrong pot - what should it be instead?) !elektronik #musicians @pettter @tomas
There used to be an !amateur group @ sdf.org's instance, but it's gone away since they switched to Mastodon. We have a group for our local ham club !fura but no general radio group (yet!). !elektronik may also be of interest
