as a consolation prize ill also accept selfhosted blogging platforms that have some kind of protocol-enabled community aspect to them (commenting, sharing, quoting, etc)

@theaduditor the beauty is that it doesn't stop with #mastodon alone it also interoperates with other #FreeSoftware projects that implements the #ActivityPub protocol. I have friends who run their own GNU Social instances and able to communicate with them from here and the toot threading is flawless.
More love for #mastodon, #activitypub and @Gargron and yeah the designers and app developers (@Tusky, etc)

@banjofox @PresGas Banjo, didn't you join the-federation.info project a long time ago? :) As soon as SocialHome starts supporting #ActivityPub (quite soon), they'll add tracking ActivityPub servers. And postActiv is on the brink of supporting diaspora protocol and shall be added there too. So it's definitely not a diaspora-oriented stats project. It used to be, but no longer. It aims to become a stats hub of the Fediverse.

#ActivityPub, the federation standard that powers Mastodon, is finally a W3C Recommendation! I got my fingers in Mastodon’s AP implementation for a tiny bit early on, so I got to see the incredible amount of work @cwebber @Gargron and many others did to make this happen. Here’s to many more implementations going forward!
