    @wakest That's good to hear! I've been playing around with #Friendica recently, but #Hubzilla's UI is a little nicer (and it seems to have more features). The fact that it has full, two-way federation with #Mastodon might be enough for me to switch.

Dabei sollte es aber auch explizit nicht um Reichweite gehen sondern ebenso darum, dass man den konkreten persönlichen Bedarf betrachtet. Geht es nur darum, um mit Bekannten, Schulfreunden oder der Familie in Kontakt zu bleiben? Dazu gibt es ebenso andere Möglichkeiten. Dazu gehört nur Eines: Wille. :)

    @celesteh I don't even know what pod my old #diaspora account is on. I doubt I could recover it if I wanted to. But I have recently created a #Friendica account. I don't think it'll realistically replace Facebook, since it will likely never have my network of IRL friends, but maybe that's OK. If it helps me use FB less, that could be enough (and, really, maybe I don't need FB at all).

    Beim #NetzDG war es ja relativ einfach festzustellen #Fediverse und #Federation sind wahrscheinlich nicht betroffen, bei den kommenden #UploadFiltern in #Europa sieht das derzeit wohl anders aus.

    Es scheint allerdings auch noch nach der genauen Definition der betroffenen "Plattformen" gesucht zu werden und die involvierten Entscheider ggf. auf vorgetragene Einwände zu reagieren.

    Das ist insbesondere ein Deal zwischen Frankreich (pro) und Deutschland (eigentlich dagegen [Koalitionsvertrag]aber so richtig Einsetzen tun wir uns nicht damit die Franzosen dem europäischen Leistungsschutzrecht zustimmen). Deshalb ließe sich in DE eventuell noch ein wenig Druck aus der Öffentlichkeit aufbauen um das Schlimmste abzuwenden.

    Man kann sie sich wohl mieten, diese Filter. Für so 2500€ Einrichtung und 1000€/Monat. Ich denke die großen Knoten kriegen das an Spenden rein oder? Mal abgesehen davon, dass so eine Zensur-Infrastruktur eher uncool ist.

    Ich hoffe die Aufzeichnungen vom gestrigen Netzpolitischen Abend kommen zeitnah online.

    A Facebook recruiter reached out to me personally on LinkedIn. Tough luck, 18 months ago I might have considered an offer. Since then I have been locked out of my FB account, I discovered #Friendica and Trump got elected thanks in part to inflammatory news virality. 🙅‍♂️
