Der Mobil-Browser Firefox Focus bzw. Firefox Klar soll mit einem Adblocker ausgestattet werden. Vor dem Release im Februar soll erst noch ein Test laufen.
@alcinnz It's one thing for the #EFF to form a united front with our corporate exploiters to defend #NetNeutrality against the cable oligopoly, or to fight #DRM#Crippleware pushed by the #MPAA, or some other issue where our interests are actually aligned. That's just good strategy (never fight a war on two fronts). But I have to agree with @aral and @Shamar on them having corporate-sponsored fellowships. We're seen what that kind of sell-out has done to #Mozilla, #Linux Foundation, and others
This bit I like very much: "The primary reason we’ve been able to do this is an increase in donors to the project. We hope that anyone reading this will consider giving to Thunderbird as well. Donations from individual contributors are our primary source of funding, and we greatly appreciate all our supporters who made this year so successful!"
#Mozilla, please don't do this. We don't want this. It might not be an "ad" but it makes you look bad nonetheless. Especially now given that #Firefox is the only non-Chromium browser out there, you need not alienate your user base.
With the removal of #RSS features from #firefox, I was left very disappointed. How can #mozilla backslide on the essential bits of the open web by removing support.
However, @kensanata has, yet again, saved the day by making a lovely bookmark that finds the RSS feeds for pages!
Here is a little holiday present from Alex, passed on by me. Thank you, good Sir!!
Download Facebook Container for #Firefox. Prevent #Facebook from #tracking you around the web. The Facebook Container extension for Firefox helps you take control and isolate your web activity from Facebook.
Excited to be presenting "Tracking Mobile Trackers" today @mozfestprivsec in London :D 11:30 New York / 4:30 London / 5:30 Paris @exodus#Mozfest#mozilla
Many of the things said in this documentary are still true to this day, about #startups, stock options, the nature of programming jobs, #monopolies etc.
And then there's this prediction which unfortunately came true.
"This could all turn into #television all over again. This could all be controlled by a small number of companies, and there's a lot of precedent for that."
Seriously, #Mozilla, I wonder how you even still exist. Going to all the effort to create a privacy-first browser, then advising people that don’t know any better to disable the protections is a bad move.
From Mozilla, users got: a) a competitive market in browsers (not just Internet Explorer on every computer), a number of which are primarily built from free code b) ABrowser, IceCat, and other 100% free code browsers mostly paid for by tech corporations 1/2
@marxistpenguinist you have to admit that a lot less people using #RSS readers than they did at it's peak, and as a consequence, #Mozilla are considering removing the live bookmarks reader from #Firefox, and sites will be looking at their long-term support plan and wondering how long continuing to support RSS / Atom feeds will be worthwhile.
