i'm hesitant to build cross-instance search, especially with crap like Gab on the horizon. they will use it to find people to go after. -

yes, such functionality does potentially reward spamming but it's not like:
- it isn't already happening
and
- Pleroma is particularly lacking in anti-spam mitigations -

anyway MRF/MRF2 are boring compared to Federation Policy Hooks which will be a complete federation policy engine for granting OCAP capability tokens once we have an adaptation ready.
federation policy hooks will allow for all sorts of automation for federation policy: open federation, closed federation, friends-of-friends federation, conditional endorsement-based federation, etc.
like MRF before it, federation policy hooks will continue the philosophy of providing admin convenience in their task of keeping their communities in line with the goals and stated policies they have put in place. -

and then on top of that Pleroma admins can:
- configure any MRF policy they wish against any user or server
- quarantine instances (only send public posts to them)
(but this isn’t presently active in Admin FE. will probably be addressed in the 1.1 update in a few weeks. but they can do it on the CLI today.)

no.
Pleroma moderators can always:
- delete accounts
- deactivate accounts (keeps the content but disables any future use of the account)
- reactivate accounts (opposite of deactivation)
- delete posts
- change scope of posts
- mark posts as NSFW retroactively
- attach a subject to a post
if mrf_tag is enabled, Pleroma moderators can also:
- force future posts to be unlisted
- force future posts to be followers-only
- force media to be removed from future posts
- force future posts to be NSFW
-

and these enhancements are at https://git.pleroma.social/pleroma/admin-fe/issues/26 it'd be nice to get them in before 1.0 drops. -

in all seriousness, Admin FE report handling is about 75% of where i'd like to see it.
if they added integration of mrf_tag as well as single click delete/deactivate account (almost all reports we have on our own instance are spambots), it'd be perfect.

@kaniini showing kids that video would've been orders of magnitude more effective than that old "say no to drugs" campaign they showed in arcade games back in the 1980s.
