and in less jokish news: adam savage recently threw two bag designs on the market. they’re boxy, roomish, and white. (old NASA aesthetic,you find stuff easier in white bags, and there’s too many black tacticool messenger bags already.) cue TONS of dudes complaining about the non-black purses, and can’t he do a black messenger bag plz.

@garbados i once did an entire semester at uni where all the code i submitted was named by the NSA name generator. (i remember there being a ‘sparrow diaphragm v0.1’ and a ‘license pollution v0.1’)

@garbados the entire vocabulary and skewed scale is baffling to the utmost degree. he is credibly accused of having *actually* ruined the lives of several women. he will not have it investigated to clear his name. he lies under oath. he is incoherent. he throws a massive tantrum at the mere notion of not deserving the top-of-the-line job he’s nominated for. and that last bit is ‘ruining(?) that good(?) man’s life.(?)’

@pattheflip aw. yeah, i got my grip strength itself covered well enough (grip trainers, weighted pullups, climbing, hangboard), i just started wondering if antagonist training wouldn’t be in order at some point. but you doing well enough without it is a helpful data point as well, so still thanks, mate. :) *offers fist bump*

@pattheflip hey, as per yesterday on stream, here’s my exercise question: do you have any recommendations for antagonist exercises for the flexors in the forearm? i’d guess BJJ demands a good bit of grip strength, so it might come with similar one-sidedness (closing vs opening) as my bouldering. thanks :3

@marxistpenguinist iirc, that will backspace from where the cursor is until it encounters the next non-word character, or something like that, right? i guess that would speed up some cases, but i stll prefer vim’s ciw/ciW for not having to jump to the end of the word first.

(i admit, a nontrivial part is knowing vim’s behaviour better than how exactly modifier-backspace is implemented.)

the worst thing about getting really used to vim is: you can’t do anything in random text fields anymore without feeling extremely clumsy.

i just had to repeatedly press backspace until a word was gone, before typing its replacement.

@streetvalkyrie @dirt word! in my current job, i work with arabists. many of the student workers learn arabic through provided courses. i tried. i’m infinitely happy i get to write XSLT instead of arabic.
