I feel you. The other day I started using the youtube app on an iPad (without an account, after a long time of not using it), on which I once watched something Yu-Gi-Oh related and for the past week it's been suggesting me like 10 YGO videos and 2 videos that actually relate to the topic of the video I'm currently watching. And I'm like "Goddamit! If I wanted to watch that, I would've searched for it!".

I haven't ever heard of a good reason to be part of it. And every single peek I've had into it only showed me how quickly a simple discussion can devolve into a fight.

Holy crap! I never expected to see something of Costa Rica on the Fediverse for at least a couple more years lol. I'm unexpectedly excited 😅. As far as I knew, I was the only person in this country that was on here.

Well, strictly speaking in the sense of the word, free speech does cover ALL areas. However, even if Prism Break (as it looks to me) strives to focus solely on the aspect of avoiding surveillance, it is in the end a community's project, and it is thus inevitable that some ideology would seep in (as with all human endeavors). Additionally it would be ironic to recommend a platform that deliberately hosts an ideal that once encouraged surveillance (& other things).

They probably still do, since the government here is just like that I guess, and I doubt Purism has any partners in a country as small as Costa Rica 😅. That said, I'm definitely getting myself one. It'll just have to be when I go to the US, given the circumstances.
