@moonman how about however much I want? Don't neuter a car just because you only ever want to commute. A daily driver shouldn't make you hate driving and people are starting to agree with me. Look at the rising popularity of the focus RS and the Fiesta ST. Honda never stopped selling manual trans and automatics are disapproved of in europe

@Elizafox there is already a scene of people maintaining internal combustion engine cars. It's already a thing. People dedicate huge chunks of their time maintaining cars from the 60s

@Elizafox you don't have to get a car like that. Yes you need an ECU but get any manual trans honda/Toyota/older focus and you'll be good to at least 300k miles

They don't make manual transmission EVs

Self driving cars are venture capital nonsense, electric cars are just as bad for the environment if not worse, and electric cars have no horsepower.
