@gameragodzilla @maiyannah
It's completely stand-alone though. I own it and don't own Far Cry 3.
That counts as a game released that year, in my eyes. But that's just me.
-
@gameragodzilla
Not that I'm a huge fan, but I know you are so.
I guess you forgot Blood Dragon was out that year?
-
The thought process of "If you don't like something, don't complain, still buy it, support the company cos it's nice for them to even make us stuff in the first place"
They're a business. Your money sways the direction they take. People complain so the company learns what to create. The culture of "buy it anyways to support devs" is why we get stuff people don't actually want.
-
I hate the mindset of "don't criticize this company for announcing a game, they're being so nice to the fans to make this"
They want money.
They make things, that you BUY to get YOUR MONEY.
There's nothing 'nice' about it THEY WANT YOUR MONEY THIS ISN'T HARD TO UNDERSTAND.

@maiyannah
Wifey hugs?

@camoceltic
Mhm. The sidestepping of the word "mistakes" but acting like you had some odd system in which you still sometimes failed and learned, is...strange.
It comes across as very "Oh yeah I learned, but when I learned, the thing I did was always basically deliberate, or not even THAT bad" like they're hoping to cover up whatever occurred.
And as you note, that just makes it look like they definitely did make mistakes, and to me, that they're probably quite big.
-
Apparently it's World Otter Day, so you can remember all the people who post them, and are utterly shitty people.
-
Obligatory "Everybody makes mistakes Everybody has those days"
-
Some people have this weird culture of thinking 'I have to prove I learn, but I must never say I have made mistakes'
You learn -from- mistakes. No one is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes and learning from them is a good thing.
This odd "I learned things and grew as a person cos that's good but I never made a mistake cos that's bad" shows you...didn't really grow all that much.
-
"I don't think I can really say anything in my past has been a mistake.
While I've had some successes and failures, they've all been chalked up to experience and moments of learning."
You err...know what a mistake is, don't you, person I'm quoting and subposting?
-
They went from the main thread being all "I hope this is like a New Vegas style spin-off, just Bethesda's version of that"
To the thread regarding Jason Schreier's comment that it won't be anything like a traditional singleplayer RPG, and in that thread everyone is screaming in agony.
-
Hehe the Fallout subreddit is as on fire (in a negative way) as I am about it.
-
Also if I'm totally wrong about all of this I will fuck @maiyannah
(What? I might be wrong. Only silly people pick a -bad- thing to do if they're wrong. I'm picking someone fun I'll do either way :v)
-
Oh and just to put it out there "Katie you basically said you couldn't care a less so why are you posting so much"
Cos other Fallout stuff, I like. The first two are great games. I really like New Vegas, deeply flawed as it is, and hell even Fallout 3 I'm far too harsh on and that's mainly cos it doesn't hold up to the first two in my eyes.
Hated Fallout 4, so this is just pushing a "Bethesda are burning down a game series I used to really like" thought process.
I know I know, should wait to here more, just...argh, it's hard. Nothing out so far enthuses me in the slightest.
-
I know it's a Kotaku source and all but "Anyone who spends the next two weeks expecting Fallout: 76 to be a new traditional single-player RPG will be VERY disappointed"
SADNESS INTENSIFIES.
-
I am Gatekeeper Katie, get outta my wasteland? :P
-
Yknow how some Fallout series fans don't like New Vegas, cos it introduced a load of people to Fallout's Fandom who had no respect for the lore and story before it?
Fallout 4, and adding people who only want base building in an RPG series.
After that, I feel your pain.
-
The people I've seen most excited for this are the ones who believe (and are saying) they hope for less story, more building stuff.
...God fucking damn it.

VOTE FOR KATIE AND LIZ, QUEENS OF THE UNIVERSE.

@maiyannah
Jeez, that they are.
