my @maiyannah is so beautiful and good to me
-
are, all his games as on the nose as this? that'd explain a lot
-
so, I watched some of detroit: become human on youtube the other day.
as someone who has, never really played or paid any attention to a david cage game. But hey I like RPGs, narrative stuff, maybe I'd like the story. or so I figured.
I'm gonna go ahead and assume a common complaint may be that subtlety is not that mans forte.

@maiyannah
mew?
(xmpp?)
-
@maiyannah
I'm here sister, promise, it's tough but you're stronger than it.
-
The Marvel team ups have a whole bunch of solo films for you to think "aw man that character will meet that character"
We didn't know what Batman would be like in BvS before it came out, and in that he's squared off against Supes.
Justice League was the first introduction of three of the main cast in the universe.
-
@maiyannah
Yeah, I liked Scarecrow, Cillian Murphy did him pretty well. But well
For one, he's in Batman Begins, as a minor villain halfway through, more a plot point delivery service really, and that sucks cos he should be way more threatening than that.
Then he's just...relegated to a cameo role in the others, so much that it's basically a joke. It boils down to the villains being all "hey, when we win, lets get Scarecrow out. That way it'll be like, haha you suck so much even Scarecrow is above ya."
Hence the ultimate thinking of wasted potential.

@gameragodzilla @maiyannah
I mean...it was a bit more realistic than literal comics, I wouldn't have said it's -that- realistic or grounded tho. It's still pretty damn mad.
-
@maiyannah
I liked the Joker (Not like, adored, but liked him) well enough.
I just hate how in disliking that film you get all the people, and I've faced them before. Being all "you mean the one with Heath Ledger? Surely not."
As though it's not possible to dislike a film -on a whole-
-
@gameragodzilla
Gotta push past them. Have to.
-
Very bad opinion:
I like Batman Begins. I deeply dislike both other Christopher Nolan films. Yes The Dark Knight is by him, yes I still dislike it, yes I do mean The Dark Knight, yes the one with the amazing Heath Ledger as the Joker yes. (Maybe you can tell I've had a lot of shit for disliking that film)
-
@gameragodzilla
You still need to finish that game George. :v
-
@gameragodzilla @maiyannah
it doesn't help that Martin Freeman is overrated as hell.
-
@gameragodzilla @maiyannah
huh really? It's not a film I particulary like m'self, but it's very well known and regarded. At least over here.
-
@gameragodzilla @maiyannah
Yeah and the Hobbit would never have worked as three.
Thank god that never happened.
*shudders*
-
@maiyannah
Mhm, very much so. Just explaining why I think I first liked it, and why looking back during this convo, I'm recognizing a lot of my liking was 'meta knowledge' yknow?
-
@maiyannah @gameragodzilla
I looked, cos I remembered Big Fish, Black Hawk Down, and Trainspotting 2.
...turns out the first two were before episode 3 (That was 2005? Holy fuck) soooooo...yeahhhhhhh.
I also remembered him in theatre for Othello but I didn't think I'd be taken very seriously if I said that, cos I'm probably the only person around here who actively watches theatre stuff.
-
@maiyannah
Yeah. I enjoyed the film for what it was as a relatively funny thing with clever edits, but I definitely feel like if I'd watched it first, I would have been annoyed since I wouldn't have had my out of it knowledge to subconsciously try and fill in blanks, if that makes sense?
-
@gameragodzilla
While I do agree, Ewan McGregor has done a LOT since then to show off his acting skills :P
-
Kingdom Hearts is something I will -never- understand how much people get into.
