@Faveing Glad to help.
And besides, one can never quench the thirst for knowledge. And you got me curious to know more about font licensing

On the subject of free and libre #fonts, there are a few that I've found that I really like.
IBM Plex
Monoid (and Monoisome)
Hack
Gidole
Font Awesome (free version at least)

@Faveing Did some research into this, and although the MS TTF fonts (including TNR) aren't free, they are gratis. Even Debian lets you install them (in the contrib repo).
Not ideal, but if you are being dinged for not using TNR, either preach to your teacher the virtues of free Serif fonts such as Liberation, or bite the bullet and use TNR.
Also inform your teacher that, out in the real world, people still use Comic Sans for some ungodly reason.

@Faveing even Microsoft doesn't use Times New Roman anymore. They use Calibri.
On Linux you can use Liberation Serif or FreeSerif.

Gervase Markham has died. A huge loss for the #FLOSS world.
Thank you Gerv for your tireless work for #FreeSoftware & #OpenSource by helping lead #Mozilla's mission in myriad ways.
As always, it is our task to take all that was beautiful, kind, and meaningful about him and weave it into the tapestry of our futures in such a manner to honor him and give added meaning to our lives.
Such is the nature of life, love, death, and life after loss.

TIL of a CLI command to generate a random password. Yes, there are multiple methods to generate random passwords, but I think this one is pretty cool.
dd if=/dev/urandom bs=1 count=N 2>/dev/null | base64 -w 0 | rev | cut -b 2- | rev
Where N is the length of password you want

@kev the one benefit to a "lightweight" distribution, where packages installed is as minimal as possible, is that running updates uses minimum amount of storage and bandwidth. For the typical desktop user, though, this is basically meaningless (as you have said yourself).
Also, maybe I'm just so used to it being the norm on the Internet, I don't even notice hostility anymore (as if a fnord)

@ajdunevent I kept an @cox.net email address for 10 years even after I bought my domain, just in case something slipped thru the cracks. However when the email address got closed, I had already long since migrated

@hund I'm presuming a paid feed aggregator, so that they don't need to manage everything manually. Considering the size of Jupiter Broadcasting, that could make sense for them.

@hund Luckily my work laptop I can configure almost how I want as far as that goes, and they provided me with a decent keyboard. But I have to use a lot of workstations at work that are tightly locked down.
