they're not hungry for your brains; they're hungry for your wallet. it's the new Sprint capitalization plan.

i just realized talking about Sprint violates the first rule of comedy: never punch down

    but it's so easy

oh lord Sprint hired a "turnaround artist" to save them, but unfortunately his signature "turnaround strategy" is to sell the company to somebody else. i think they already tried this one with t-mobile who very clearly didn't want them?

they are also basically insolvent; their market capitalization is less than their outstanding debt

the spectrum holdings are mostly worthless because they are either high band spectrum or they interfere with GPS.

the network is LTE-TDD which is basically incompatible with almost everything else.

maybe Masayoshi calls up Marcelo and keeps screaming "YOU WERE AN ACCIDENT" at them on a regular basis.

what else could you do with Sprint?

black market arbitrage as you describe is possible because the Venezuelan regime has taken actions to make their currency worthless in the global market, as a form of economic control.

so, it really does come down to corruption.

@kaniini Never. They don't see the refusal to participate in the global economy and restricting access to currency as a totalitarian practice, but as sticking it up to the evil imperialism & capitalism.
