TFW you apply your final Machine Learning model to the test data - and actually get a decent accuracy...
Honestly, doing ML feels like playing an action RPG on hardcore. You have a data-set you can use once-and-once-only, and if the model fails abysmally, that's hours of work wasted, back to the drawing board... not this time though π πΊ
I'm unsubscribing from all my YouTube channels. I'd like to say that this is because of some sort of moral objection to Google's data mining all the things, but it's really because my children have taken over my YouTube, and I'm more likely to get a recommendation from Google for some weird kids game than I am for something I'm actually interested in. Thankfully, YouTube videos still support RSS, so I'll just put the channels I'm interested in into my RSS reader and forget about subscribing.
@cobra2@ben0_o that's a good list, let me see if I can add to it...
Dropbox: Nextcloud - it's got a native Android client which will sync files
Todo: I use Taskwarrior but I'll freely admit it's a nightmare to set up. Great if you like GTD though. Texfile synced in Nextcloud works too.
Voice/video chat: I use Signal for most people, which can do both & e2ee text too. Trialling Matrix as an alternative with my partner (working well so far)
When I tried F-Droid for the first time I was a bit apprehensive and afraid of the unknown. Mainly because of Apps I won't be able to get. However, it has been such pleasure to use and it's got all the apps one could ask for. Awesome! Considering to flash my personal phone and install fdroid and not Google Play
Today I am learning that developing your data analysis question is by far the hardest part of analysis....
For example, I am tasked in this case with defining the "most active meetup" from a set. But is that based on physical events? Virtual members of the group? Comments/discussions within the message boards?
Time to ask my domain expert what he *actually* wants to measure...
In other news I managed to get lineageOS installed on my moto g5. I got stuck installing the ROM until I read I needed a 64bit TWRP recovery rather than 32, (and none of the version numbering reflects architecture).
All good now. Various APKs installed and aside from omitting GAPPS this time around, everything is as it was.
